For the main subject... I think the "lightly sanding" suggestion is a good idea. The tight clearance between the butterfly and the tb is what is causing the problem. Once a little carbon builds up on the inside of the tb it caused an even tighter fit which causes the sticking. But if you do decide to sand/polish it make sure to take it off first. You dont want to get any of the shavings in the motor.

i don't think it is the egr that dirtys up the TB, it is the pcv system.

Light sanding is the way to go. Of course the TB is off of the engine during this process. 200 0r 400 grit. Sand then check for binding then repeat. You can look for a clearance problem by holding the TB up to the light with the TB in the fully closed position. You can sand both the blade and the bore a little bit each. It shouldn't take much. If you have a build up of gunk on the TB you need to remove that first with carb cleaner then start the sanding process. Of course your EGR system should be removed while this repair is being made or you'll be working on it again in the near future.

The residue I removed was dry carbon sute (same as on your tailpipe ). If it had been a wet, oily residue, I could see it being the pcv system.

Mine had been replaced originally with the TSB also. At that time I installed a TB spacer and never had a problem again. Once I removed the TB spacer the problem returned shortly after. My uncle is a GM mechanic and said they also lightly file the edge of the butterfly as well as cleaning them with Goodwrench top engine cleaner. After I filed the butterfly on mine I've only had to clean it once. I think once I get Edit my EGR is gone too.

When my throttle was sticking a dealership told me it was caused by a clogged fuel filter. DUMBASS!

Dont get me wrong Im just looking for an excuse for puting on a big bore throttle body. Im aware of the tech bulletins and I know a simple cleaning would fix it. But why fix it if you can replace it with a High Performance part. So back to the question.

Dose any one know where I can get a bored other than the high dollar BBK??

Um, FYI, You can do this mod for about$20 bucks and an hour of your time, if you are mechanicaly inclined. All you need is a dremel, epoxy, some sandpaper, and a polishing wheel. I did mine if you need advice on how to do it i can help you.
