hmmm i think i had a bad thrust bearing...
And yes the crank has a deep grove in it where the bearing was suppose to be.

rebuilt lq4, flat top pistions, small cam, 243 heads, balanced/ blue printed ect. just the normal stuff, it ran good for 1500 miles then one time i floored it and it feel on its face. after that oil psi was a little unstable and it started getting a crazy amount of kr, and ran like ****.
Maybe i installed the tq converter wrong and it tried to push the crank out of the front of the block?
trucks been sitting for a long time this problem started back in 2009 i think. I just had to many other projects, now im starting over on this one but im doing it right this time with FI.

Did you have a gap between the converter and the flex plate when you installed it???
When the converter is properly seated all the way back the trans should slide right on and you should have a 1/8-3/16 gap between the mounting lugs and the flex-plate. Any less and it could push the crank forward. Any more and it needs a shim to maintain the proper engagement between the converter and the pump gear.
