thunder racing trutorq lvl 2 vs TSP 228R for LQ4
we have a new refreshed block for a buddy of mine ,
2002 sierra 1500 single cab 2wd AT with a 6.0 in the bed awaiting to be swaped insted of the crappy 4.8
we already got the bolt ons and milled the heads .020
im in between the TSP 228R and the Trutorq lvl 2
TSP is 228/228 .588/.588 on 111 to 114 LSA
TR lvl 2 is 223/230 .609/.604 115 LSA
TR lvl 3 is 223/236 .612/.610 115 LSA
im leaning towards the lvl 2

Imo run the 228, because its a proven grind that makes good power. And get the heads ported while they are off.
.600 lift on stock heads is a waste. PTV might also be an issue on a .02 mill and that much lift.
I'd port the 317s, then get a custom grind cam. If it were mine

I didn't think they were bad grinds or anything. I'd just run more duration because its only a reg cab. You don't need that much torque. And the engine will like the higher duration due to the higher scr from the mill on the heads.
I run a 230/236 .581/.581 114.
