Two things I'd consider...you could try changing the oil or filter again and see if that works. Certain filters have different inner construction that may change the oiling characteristics, and of course running a different viscosity oil will definitely have some affect. Take notice and see if your oil pressure has changed any also.

Second thing, and I see this alot at work, you may have "service-itis"...this is a condition where the driver notices noises that were always there, but only seem to find them after the vehicle has been serviced, since they are paying closer attention to items they didn't pay attention to previously. The end result is finding a "problem" that isn't really a problem, but merely a characteristic that they never noticed before. (I'm not trying to be a smart ***...this is a widespread problem and none of the auto manufacturers have found a fix for it...I recommeded that the owners get a Xanax and earplugs included with their invoice when they come to pick up their vehicle )

it may have just been the new oil going through the system, the sound it gone now. didn't hear it really today. don't think its service itis because when i bought it the one thing i paid the closest attention to was ticks and piston slap because my silverado had it so bad i wanted to make sure i never had that again.

Cool deal...maybe it just took some time for the lifters to get pumped up. Always be sure to consult the physicians at PT.net if you feel that you suffer from or have the symptoms of service-itis though...sorry I can't help with my above mentioned cure
