I have recently done new plugs wires and fuel filter. I tried the sea foam through the tank yesterday. Truck runs a tiny bit soother but the ticking has not improved. UI also have a second can of seafoam for the vac line but i need to know where the vac line is. Anyone that could send me a picture with a little arrow or a peice of tape around the tub i need to disconnectand put into the seafoam would help a lot. Hanes manual at VIP didnt show anything helpful. Just so you guys know, they just started selling seafoam at VIP for 5.99 a can. I could never find it before this week.

PS, no strong fumes from mine at all. Smells like the brand new ones at times but, 93 octane helps the low end power problem a TON. so i dont know what the deal is with that. The newer plugs and wires didnt make a difference. The ones in there were failry new as well.

its the hose that goes from the brake booster to the back of the intake. rev the truck to about 2000 and suck about 1/2 can of seafoam from the hose into the intake slowly. turn off the truck for about 5 minutes then crank her up and go driving around. drive it pretty rough until it stops smoking. THE SMOKE IS NORMAL!!! replace the plugs afterwards.

I did the seafoam through the vac line but the ticking has not improved. Thank you TX, i am glad that i have learned how to do the cleansing on my truck. My truck started stalling out a puttering when the vac tube was un hooked though. Is this abnormal or, waas that why u recommended reving to 2000 rpm? Sometimes when i start the truck and give it gas in reverse the truck almsot stalls out exactly the same way. Think there is any connection between these problems? Keep the ideas coming guys, im learning here as you shoot messages to me! Almsot seems liek the ticking could be coming from that area when driving. Thank you again everyone.

mine does the same
I have a 01 4.8 and it does the same thing. I think its just valve tick until the metal expands with the engine temp. I wouldnt worry too much tho.
