Mine does it to, annoys the hell out of me. Was told by a Chevy Service Manager that it's a "COV," or Characteristic of the Vehicle.

TELL HER TO RUN 93 OCTANE IN HERS AND SE IF IT STOP THEM MINE USED TO MAKE A NOISE UNTIL I RAN 93 OCTANE.

ive noticed the same thing with mine(02 4.8), i run 92-93 octane 100% of the time. the sound ive noticed is more of a mechanical sound anyway, its probably just the valvetrain doin its thing. its not very loud at all, and i only notice it if the trucks running and im standing outside of it, or if im like at a drivethru window with the window down where being right next to a brick wall echos the sound a little bit. Im not too worried about it, as it doesnt seem to be a problem, if it starts getting louder then i'll be concerned.

Yea, mine does it too...it's pretty frickin loud actually. Been that way since 99 so I don't worry about it. If it was gonna break, it would have by now...and if it does break, I'll just be forced to put a 6.0 in it!
