I had a 02 crew cab, short bed, 4x4, which i regret selling!!
I had a drop in K & N, modified the stock air box, and took off muffler and replaced it with a piece of 3" pipe- then I put a Edge "Hot Box" 150hp and 350tq w attitude- talk about surprising people with a fast big truck. Would break the 285 BFG A/T loose from 20mph and would run a consitent ---14.40-14.41 in the 1/4" mile here in Hot West Texas. They are fun trucks!! I then went with a full 4" exhaust, but did not get to take it to the track again.

BTW- I have the hot box forsale. Guy that bought the truck did not want to give me more money for it.

Best advice I will ever give.

Do the trans first, period. Either full ATS or Suncoast level5 or TTS trans. This way you can stack as many programmers as you like, no need to worry about the trans ever. If you get to greedy on the edge hot juice, you might limp it, once it limps it just keeps gettin worst.

pay now, so you can add stupid power later.

yeah, I think I saw that show "hot rod" last weekend and they hooked up a that hot box "the edge" and I was so surprise to what that thing could do, it even made me think about getting me a diesel!!! I dont know what the price is but I think it is pretty much worth the money...

What about the banks 6 gun? I saw them hook that up to a Ford PS and it really made it perform. I'm pretty sure they make them for Chevy's to. I'd say beefed up trans, intake exhaust and programmer and you should have on fast truck.

For the LB7 (2001-2004 VIN = xxxxxxx1...) the most powerful tune is probably the TTS Extreme. It WILL limp your tranny though. If you don't want to freshen up the trans, get the Edge w/Attitude. It comes with a Pyrometer to monitor exh temps, and can be set instantly for 5 different power levels. Stay at <70rwhp to avoid trans wear. You can occassionally dial it up to Level 5, but eventually you will limp it.
