Have 275/45/20 goodyears on mine and I don't like them at all. Wet traction is really bad. Dry traction is good but they have worn really fast and got really hard over time. Worn out on about 20k miles. I will try to go with a toyo or nitto when I put new ones on if I can afford to.

BFG KDWS
255/50/17
~15k
street mostly, rarely for the strip
$150
The tires hook decent on the road. no tires noise, and handle quite well. They seem to wear a little fast for a 400 rating though.

-Yokohama AVS
-285/55/18
-18x8
-20k
-Have used them for towing, track, street
-$205 each
-I like mine, but I'm not a tire squeeler either. Great in wet weather. I would recommend them for style and wet weather, not for price, racing, or burnouts.

Nitto Extream Force 404
285/50/18
18x8.5 Moda R7
~10k
Daily driving, towing, street
$122/ea
I love these tires. They are much quieter, ride better and have better traction than the set of Yoko AVS I had before.

Well I have 2:

Goodyear GTII
285/60-16
Stock Chevy 5star
5,000 miles
FREE!!! Buddy was throwing them away.
I LOVED the way my truck looked with those tires! Tires were pretty much wore out when I got them, but it looked like a racing truck, it was just mean!
I will be getting another set and putting them back on.

Then:

Toyo Proxes S/T
255/55-18
18x8.5 American Racing Torq-Thrust ST's
30,000 miles
daily driving, strip, towing racing trailer
$577.50 for all 4 mounted and balanced
Alright tire. Wears quick. Traction is ok, sucks wet. A little noisy. Good tire, but there are better.

I run 275/60/16 Pirelli Scorpion Zero's on my factory wheels. These are some of the best tires I have ever run! They have almost limitless grip. I love Pirellis and highly recommend them for any car and truck.

Thanks for the responses!

I've been looking at those Kumo's like Yelo has and I have to say they are very tempting.

The two sizes I am looking at to put on the stock rims are:
255x55 R16 ------- 1929lbs capacity
255X65 R16 ------- 2271lbs capacity

I would like to get the lower profile tire because it's 27" OD will help my gear ratio and it's lighter. However I'm a bit afraid that they would look gay on my stock suspension truck (gap between the fenders and the tire), and I wonder if they will be tough enough for towing. I figure my fully loaded rear axle weight would be around 1500 lbs a tire, and the 255x65 gives me a little extra capacity.

Any suggestions? And does anyone else run Kumho's?
