Default Too much cam????

I hav a nnbs 5.3 going to install supermaxx Lt's,ORY with CAI, and a HP tune Do u think a 216/220 .560 .560 114lsa cam would be to much on stock motor. I have all the other goodies to go with the cam like hardened pushrods and better springs. trickflow call for a minimum of 10.5:1 compression?...

that cam will be SWEET for your truck...i had the same one in my 4.8L at one time and wish I still had it. Damn good cam, throw a tune in it with a ~3,000 converter and it would be fun as hell.

thats a great cam with your motor!! i would highly suggest a converter though, as that cam starts pulling hard around 2500-3000 rpms..... a good stall will put you right in the power band!

and its such a fun job putting it in!

You will be happy with that setup with a converter, I would also look into upgrading your injectors eventually so you when your pushing high RPMs your not maxxing out your injectors. Its not required by any means but I know my injectors are flowing at over 95%..

You will be fine, could more then likely get away driving on the stock verter, with a good tune, but to take full advantage of it a lil bit of a stall would be a plus..

to much cam for a stock torque converter. That cam would love 3000+ stall with 4.10's.

Really, don't want to hack the thread, or start a pissing match. I am running a 224 on a 112 with a stock tune, verter, till I can have them done, and can get away without 2 footing it all the time...

Yeah i am waiting on the supermaxx headers to come in before i do any tuning. The stall will have to be a lil bit down the road. The supermaxx headers and the cam swap has put a dent in the wallet for a bit. i was thinkin somewhere around a 2600 stall to were i could still tow. Truck seems to like it though even without a good tune, i tuned it a lil bit with a predator tuner and i think that when i get it tuned with a HP tuner it will be a big difference.

same here i got a 224/224 581/581 112lsa and it runs fine with my stock converter so you should have no problems at all, good cam choice!
