Too much cam????

a tune will definitely fix the 2 footing action. As for driving on the stock converter, my cam isn't anything impressive but it drives quite nice with the stock converter. The TB stall will help out a ton with 60' though, just waiting on the 60e build to get underway and finish up. I have a 3 spd trans now haha

IMO 228 is cutting it close, a lot of guys "don't mind" the DD issues with these sized cams, but if you drive your truck a lot like most people on here then it can be a headache. My cam is pretty tame (since it's not a big cam), but there are some little things that I don't like about a DD cammed vehicle. Don't get me wrong I think it's worth it, but anything much bigger than a 224 I wouldn't DD myself.

That cam will run with the stock converter, but it by all means will NOT be optimal for performance. I had the same cam in my 04 CC 5.3 and did fine, I was running it with a Hughes 2500 Stall and 3.90's, best 60' was 2.1 on slicks. I personally wouldn't run that cam with any less than a 2800 stall and 4.10's if I had to do it over again.
But it was a damn good cam.
