Could you tune the high octane table to use the Torco and the low octane to run regular gas and allow the computer to switch inbetween the two?

REASON im doing this is because im running a maggie with 2.9 pulley on pump gas ca 91 which should just make it. Then i have a 2.8 pulley for race gas which will be less than a 1/4 tank of gas with a full bottle of torco which should be like 105 octane.

I see... Not sure if the .1 of an inch is going to make a big difference. Maybe .5-.75 psi. I would probably just tune for 1 full bottle of torco in 1 full tank of gas and run the 2.9 with a little more timing than the 2.8.

Unless you have some tuning software to monitor for KR, I would be a little scared to be dependent on torco to run the 2.8 pulley. Not sure if it is going to benefit you that much either. Also, that 2.8 is going to generate a lot of heat which is probably going to make the pcm pull timing based on high IAT temps. Keeping the intake charge cool and running timing is going to make more power than running more boost because once you start over spinning the blower, you get out of its effeciency range.

I am speaking from experience... I ran a 3.0 pulley on my 5.3 and made less power than I did on the 3.2. Made 386 with the 3.0 and 406 with the 3.2. I had supporting mods as well. After we made 2 pulls with the 3.0 pulley, I started losing more power with each pulley because of the intake temps. Smaller pulleys are usually only good for low to midrange torque gains.

If you had meth I would say run the 2.8 and turn up the timing and make a lot more power. I gained .6 in the 1/4 with meth because the truck was not pulling so much timing at the end of the run. Ran strong all the way thorugh the traps.

I will shut up now...

with my exhaust i should lose .5 to .75 boost but make more hp. Using 2.9 to get boost back and 2.8 on race gas for the track. the guys on tbss.com 2.9 worked fine and did pull more than stock on 91 octane and the 2.8 was a greater pull and because of the efficency of the intercooler said intake temps were fine.

Are the TBSS intercoolers any different? I have a 24" long aluminum one from Magnacharger. Intake temps are about 110 at about 75 outside and 150 after a full run. That is with the meth. I am running 21 degrees of timing.

Who is tuning yours? I bet you will make about 475-500rwhp. You have a factory 90mm TB, right?

tuning will be done by brian (blownchevy) i have hp tuners and the aem wideband and im using the z06 throttle body. im going to buy a nitrous express intercooler set up also.

Wow! Brian is the man when it comes to the Maggies. I didnt even know he did tuning. The Z06 TB will help as well. I cant wait to see both the track and dyno numbers. I bet 500rwhp all day.

well orderd a case. people are using the 2.9 pulley on pump no probs. Ill use the 2.8 pulley with a can of torco. i usually just keep a 1/4 of tank anyway in the truck. Its about 5 gallons which should be well over 104 with the torco added.
