Default Torque Converter Part 2!!!!

Okay guys the was kinda getting out of hand....so I was just going to post this to let you know that was all fun and games and there are no hard feelings. I am not going to put down another guys truck or abilities if I don't know them. I am kinda like you and was just trying to see how far we could take it. That kinda livened up the board, right? So how about it, any hard feelings? And I don't doubt any of your trucks's ablilities either. Believe me I have seen some badass trucks on here. But anyway, I just didn't want this to get me known as the "Winey ***."

Nstyle - It all in fun. No need to apologize. That thread did get kinda crazy. Here is your request from the original thread.

quote:
I have ordered a new converter but really don't want to pay the money that the tranny guy wants to install it when I could just get off of my lazy butt and do it over the weekend. What I am getting to is for all of you that have installed your own, what problems did you run in to or what are some little time savers that you found while doing the install. Thanks ahead of time for your help.

How much did the tranny guy want? I use to do alot of my own work but, it's easier to pay my mechanic. It only took him like 45 minutes. Hmmm....a day for me or 45 minutes.

no hard feelings here. this really is a great group of guys (except for hiho, did we finally scare him off?) and we do actually know truck stuff and actually talk about it sometimes

welcome to the site and feel free to ask questions. but be prepared for every one of yur threads to get BSed to death and then be greateful when they don't. usually you'll find out what you need. you can try the search button too. the threads we tend to tear apart are usually the ones that have been asked a billions times.

Cool. I have been a member on both LS1 sites, but I never did a whole lot of posting. I have seen how the stuff goes down and I am ready for the bs....But like everyone else I just take it in fun and try to dish out some too.

Oh yeah....and as for my tranny guy...it was outrageuos. Like 200-300 just to do the install. That is crazy as far as I am concerned when I could just do it myself.

It's been so long since I put the verter in my car that I don't remember the exact price but, it was somewhere in the $200+ area. I also got the seal changed and fluid topped off for that price. Not too bad a deal for me when I considered the alternative...Laying on a concrete floor getting trans. fluid all over and fighting the trans off the motor.
