Default Torque Management Removal

I'm looking at getting a dyno tune in the next couple of weeks. I have a 6.0 with a 4L65E tranny, 3.73 gear and G80. I want to remove some of the torque management for the tranny and engine on the new tune, but don't know how much. I need the tranny to last, so how much should I do? I'm thinking 50% from tranny and 80% from engine. What do you guys think?

Brian Herter (the PCMFORLESS guy) said that he just usually removes it all, from both the engine and tranny.

that shouldn't be a problem on a 65E. i would install a shift kit though.

I was going to wait a little longer before I did that. Any reason why the shift kit couldn't wait?

it can wait, but when you have it programmed there are a couple things that can be changed differently if you have the shift kit first. it also adds some strength to the trans to help with the lower torque management.

Depending on where you are in Texas, I would give Allen Nelson a call in San Antonio. He is really good with the GM PCM work.

Remove all the TM. You will notice a big difference between 80% remval and 100% removal. Don't ask me why.

Your trans will be fine if you are not racing it all the time.

You kill the PCM's ability to pull timing during shifts and whatnot. It would be best to remove only about 75%. Leave a little in there on a 60E.
