towing cam for the 422?
The cam in the 422 i bought from Silent1 is like 246/249 612/620 on 112ls and I bought a cam from stopyify that is a bit smaller. I still want this to be able to pull my 18ft all steel trailer, racecar and about 1200 lbs of tire, tools, generator, and air tanks and such. What cam would I be best with. I want some bad *** low end torque. thanks in advance.

I saw a dyno somewhere of a 224/224 in a 427(I believe), and people were calling it "undercammed" and a stump-puller. The HP seemed to peak just over 6K, with massive torque everwhere. You might want to cruise through the dyno archives to see what kind of powerbands people are putting down with their cams in similar motors...
Personally, my N/A goal would be a 408 with something small, big split, .6" lift, and tight LSA - a bigger version of what I'm running now - just not sure on those exact numbers. I'm after the same powerband as you though.

I made up my mind and said Fu*^ it. Keep the big nasty in it and buy a another truck to pull the race car with. I think I wil try to find a high mileage older cummins 3/4 ton to pull with. I guess since I have this 422 I might as well go all out. I think I might have to treat it to a PI 3600 now. I got spanked by a 03 cobra tonight and it made me see the light

with that many cubes even the big cam will be a nice puller. it doesn't take that much torque to pull a moderatly heavy trailer down the road. if a s**t torque 4.8 can do it your nicely cammed 6.9 can do it just fine.
