if i cant find one, im just gonna order one..found a decent one for 80 bucks..prolly be a good thing to have in the tool box..
so just to confirm
Cam tr-220
pushrods 7.4
valve springs pac 1518 (unless anyone has some that are better for cheaper)
cam install kit (gaskets and cam bolt)
valve spring tool
air fitting to keep valves up while changing springs
this should be about all i need? do most people do the pen magnet trick to hold the lifters up, or use a wooden dowel?

If you do get a valve spring tool I recommend the crane dual spring tool, it works really well. You'll also need the 3 jaw puller to pull the balancer and a tool to install it. Sdparts sells the install tool. I used the wooden dowels and had no issues, but doing both wouldn't hurt either.

is that a tool that can be rented do you think? i dont really wanna have 200 in tools i will never use again haha
it seems all that tool is, is a bolt with a nut in the middle and a spacer..screw it in, tighten down the nut with the spacer to seat the balancer and your good to go?

I'm not sure if they have them at auto parts stores for rent. You can make your own. Here it is.
Scoggin Dickey Parts Center SD6628 - LS Balancer Install Tool | SDParts - 1-800-456-0211
