Flyer, I think the cam you're thinking of is the Comp 224 112 LSA which has a .581 lift. The TR224 has a .563 lift on the 112 lsa and a .561 lift on the 114 lsa. ACDenali, use the 918 springs, but make sure they're the blue stripe ones.

My truck sounds almost like that clip. My stupid muffler tones it down too much though. I ran it straight out of the Y-pipe one night because I broke a bolt and it sounded WAY meaner than that clip. The lope was just as bad assed too. Hell at a stoplight my truck will actually rock back and forth like and old school muscle car.

hey ac denali u dont need a converter for that cam cause it starts to pull from (1700-6800rpm) and yes u do need to have 918's. i was thinkin about gettin that cam for about a month and i asked farm truc if he could tune for that cam and he said that would be a great cam for our trucks.

Yeah right!
Are you saying this cam is not limited to mechanical factors that keep every other cam in this world from giving excellent low and, mid range and top end power? Cams will only give you 2 of the 3 at most. Not all three unless you are the proud owner of VTec! LOL
I speak from experience considering my cam is only 2deg more in duration which is barely even noticable. You will require a converter for that cam, no iff ands or buts.

Thanks for the clip Sportside
What things will I run into without a converter? What will the truck do (and not do for that matter) with the stock converter set-up in place? Would a 2800 stall be the prime converter to consider?
Thanks a lot...

Without a converter you are gonna have a huge dead spot from 1600-4000rpm.
Basically you floor it and it will slowly build up in power till about 4200-4500rpm and then take off and pull hard as hell till 6500rpm or so.
With a converter (3000+) you will floor it and the rpm will jump to around the stall speed and you'll either roast the tires or take off MUCH harder than you would stock and you wont have to go through 2000+ rpm worth of junk power.
No real drawback to the converter after a couple days of driving it except lowered towing capacity.
