Nice! Let's be honest here though, you have more compression and better heads. So I'd expect you to make 10-20 more hp. TSP's dyno testing showed that the 228 made 6 rwhp more than the 224 with little to no sacrifice in driveability.

I'm going to use the SDPC springs and TSP pushrods, LS2 timing chain, and will reuse my stock oil pump.

sounds like that will be a nice setup. I vote stall, even though you don't want one. those springs are pac springs or good 918's so I hear.

I look at it this way, I can always add a stall later down the road. This truck had a 4.8L and 3.42 gears for 143k miles, whatever I do it's not going to be worse of a pig than that! The way I drive doesn't really lend itself towards a stall anyways. I like a very stiff throttle and usually drive like an old fart most of the time. How else can you explain the fact that my stock 60e is still working perfectly?

112 LSA. Not sure on the advance. If it's +0 I'll consider advancing the cam 4 degrees when it's installed.

This should put me solidly into the 13s with the addition of the 4.10s

sorry to threadack, but i hate starting cam threads.

What exactly is advancing? what advantages /disadvantages is caused by this, and more importantly how do you do it when you install a cam.

I also just bought a tr224, should be going in by the end of february with some cut outs, and a good tune.

Advancing the cam brings the powerband down.

With your 6.0........I would go with a 224 with XE-R type lobes and a 112 LSA. It will get you lots of chop and a nice TQ curve

I went with the 228r

I just ended up buying the first one available at a good price. There really shouldn't be much difference between any of the 3 cams when it comes down to it I believe.
