Default Traansfer Case Guru's ---> haaaalp :)

I am trying to force a 4l80e to match up to my nvg149 awd transfer case. Of course, the problem is that the 80e's output shaft is 32 spline and the input drum on the tcase is 27 spline.

I've been thinking of having a custom shaft machined, but Parish suggested that the input drum on a manual HD tcase might be the same dimensions as the one in the awd tcase, so I could just buy one from GM and drop it in.

Anyone know? If not, anyone have one laying around that could make some measrements? Failing that, anyone wanna come force the tranny in with a shoe horn?

TIA

Can parish8 measure some of his parts? I think his stuff is currently out for some fresh air.

Have you asked Kurt (427)? He was going to have Roessler look into machining down a shaft to fit his AWD case in his SS, but not sure what happened to that plan.

Kurt is kinda on hold waiting for a dyno. He said he could help me out but that it would be a slow process. I'm kinda looking for a fast process t this point

I think advanced adaptors makes a 27 spline output shaft for the 4L80E, that may be your best bet. But if you can get a 32 spline input shaft that would be better just because of the increased strength. That would be nice to do. I will look into this swap eventually as well.

I talked with Jim at Adv Adapters a few weeks ago. He said no one is making anything yet.
