Default track run ???'s

ok i ran the truck at the track and ran a 15.02 i know slow lol but my ?'s are will the tire pressure slow you down??

first run was 15.04 with right foot on the brake then floor it on green
second run was a 15.02 with a stall of 1200 rpms
third run was 15.03 with a stall of 1500 rpms
and the tire pressure were front at 28lbs and rear at 24lbs
tire shop messed up lol they were supposed to be fr. 35 and rear 30

so stalling up didnt help with the overall times but did in the 60'
1st 60' 2.29
2nd 60' 2.19
3rd 60' 2.19
Thanks inadvance, kevin

It would have probably made enough difference to get you a 14.99 timeslip, but that's about it. When I make my first run at the track, I start with 40 psi in the front and 35 psi in the rear. If I spin any I lower the rear tires 5 psi per run until I stop spinning or hit 25 psi, whichever comes first.

IMO, you want high pressure in the front for less rolling resistance, and as high of pressure in the rear that you can run without spinning. For the rear, the lower the pressure, the larger the contact patch but with the draw back of more rolling resistance. Marginal differences at best, but hey, every little bit counts right?

On street tires, you need to stall up to the point of just breaking loose. What size wheels and tires you running now? I would run with 20 in the rear and 40 in the front. The rear tires being the drive tires will loose come of the contact patch after the launch.

It looks to me like it helped. I would bet that if you had the tires aired up, on the 2nd or 3rd run it would have broke into the 14's. Notice how you 60' times were considerably better? Shaving .2 off your 60' is hard to do with mods.

I always found that stalling that high didn't get me as much as about 1300-1500. It sure seemed to pin me in the seat better stalled under the breaking point.

hey flyer well with just boltons i have gained 2 seconds over my stock times so boltons do work!!
fast 4.8 i run tires that i run on the street rozzi 18x9 and tires 255x55x18 with usually 35 in the front and 30 in the rear with no wheel spin at a stall of 1200rpms best launch for the truck i feel!
the first launch was to see what i run on the street then i wanted to see what it would run at with it stalled up, since i can leave on the steet with just flooring it and cant when i stall it up it was going tobe a comparision but there isnt one overall, and yes the 60' times were faster but the overall times were about the same! i dont think 2hundereths of a second would matter much but i was looking for at least a 1/10 or 2
and another thing i didn't mention was the first run was at 90 mph and the other 2 were 88.7 so go figure lol later and sorry so long. later, kevin
