Default traction bars

My 2000 silverado ext cab takes off spinning and then starts hoping. Some told me it is hoping because it is getting hooked, but the truck spins alot and hops. What are some good not to expensive traction bars for our trucks?

Wheel hop or axle wrap comes from the tires having enough traction that the diff twists and loads the springs. When the tires break loose the springs snap back. Then the tires gets traction again and wraps again. Hippidy Hop!
Simple Lakewood bars should fix it. They are basically a length of square tubing that is fixed under the diff where the springs bolt on. When the diff wraps the front of the bar has a rubber snubber (some are adjustable) which contacts the spring and stops the hop.

I have the same annoying problem. I'm planning on dropping my truck 2/4 and sway bars, all by Hotchkis. Wil that take the annoying hop away? Or will I still need to get some traction bars? Anyone know?
Thanks in advance...

like stated a simple traction bar will fix the problem. As for lowering it yes it wil also help because the springs are going to be stiffer. this will help because they will not flex as easy. althoug lowering it will help provided you use springs it will not solve the prob. You may still get wheel hop but i not as easy as befor.

www.calvertracing.com

around $325
tell them if you have lowered leafs
will not work with front lowered hanger <img border="0" alt="[driving]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_driving3.gif" />
I have had good luck with mine on my 99 reg cab step 5.3 w/hotchkis drop and sway bars.

Is it the same part # for the 99-03 as the 88-98? (28512)

They only have the 88-98 listed for applications.

Before you try all that stuff just throw a set of good shocks on there and see if that helps

Sorry, I don't konw any part numbers. Lakewood has been building bars for 20 years or so. Caltracs are way better and adjustable for different track conditions. Wheel stands with 9" slicks is awsome. They seem as good as a four link set up.
When I lowered mine with a 2/4 DJM kit, the rear spring locations were moved. The front went up 6 inches and the rear up 2 (4 inch total) The new spring angle made for alot better weight transfer and no hop.
