I'll throw another one in the mix. I don't know the part # but the converter for the new Colorado/Canyon midsize trucks flashes to 2600 rpm behind the 3500 I-5. I've been diving a z-71 colorado for about a month now and It will hit 2300-2400 rpm from a stand still and will brake stall to 2600 RPM. If higher torque causes a higher stall theis could easily go 3000 behind a 5.3. The I-5 is a derivative of the 4200 I-6 AND BOTH USE THE 4L60E so it also should fit.

the 5.3 and 5.7 converters are 1.9 str
the 4.3 and 4.8 converters are 2.1 str
if you put a 4.3/4.8 converter into a 5.3/5.7 you will see about 600-800 more stall depending on power etc...

I finally installed my converter. I ordered the 24215557 Trailblazer from gmpartsdirect a few weeks ago and finally had some time to complete the installation.
I like it a lot. I can brake stall it a little higher than previously stated, 2800 rpm vs. 2600. It's possible that I get the extra 200 rpm from the 5.7 LS1 compared to the 5.3 or if the factory tach is that accurate. It was a little looser than I expected but it has ended up being a pleasent surprise though I would never consider any more stall for my daily driver.
I just wanted to update all of you that part #24215557 works and stalls as promised. No track times to compare since all my timeslips were with my 5.3 and whipple -- Running a 5.7 without the supercharger now.
It's cheaper than the Yank 2600 and I would bet it's similar performance. I wonder what internal work, if any, they do to the TT2600.

With the $100 core charge I am into it for a little more than $400. For that money it may pay to go with an aftermarket converter.
Might be worth talking to some salvage yards though.
