Default Trailblazer TC question

I was reading about the trailblazer tc and came up on this info which says that the 4.8L converter has the same str as the 4.3L inline-6 which is the trailblazer powertrain. And that the 5.3/5.7 has a 1.9. So, my question is, would it be pointless to install a trailblazer tc in a 4.8L? I dont know too much about tc's, so I dont know if this info is correct or if there are other things different between the trailblazer tc and the 4.8/5.3 that need to be taken into consideration.

"the 5.3 and 5.7 converters are 1.9 str
the 4.3 and 4.8 converters are 2.1 str

if you put a 4.3/4.8 converter into a 5.3/5.7 you will see about 600-800 more stall depending on power etc..."

The inline 6 is 4.2 liters.

The 4.8,5.3,5.7,6.0 all have the same convertor. The only one not the same is the 6.0 with the 80E behind it.

Damn, I feel stupid, I was thinking the 4.3 was the inline 6.
Does anyone have any track times using the trailblazer tc vs. stock?

it will certainly increase your times and get you off the line quicker. the 4.8 won't have as much response to it as a 5.3 or 6.0, but it should help. i've done one with good results and i'm doing another this weekend.

i don't believe either has done any towing so far. the trailblazer is rated to tow a pretty good amount and i don't see there to be much of a problem with it. aside from the converter clutch, the converter itself did a good job of showing it's strength on the one when it broke the input shaft of a 4L65E shifting into 3rd and never showed any problems from the converter before or after. the one i'm doing this weekend likely won't be towing anything either, but both trucks are driven hard and are 5600+lbs with driver and awd.

where did you end up finding the converter at? or did you just purchase new? seems like it would be a nice option for the budget minded person if it was pretty cheap.
