Tranny cooler lines touching headers...
After installing my Pacesetters and new 4L60e I noticed that my transmission cooler lines rest on the collector of the header. What would be the best way to keep them off of the header so I don't boil my fluid? Also, after I got everything installed I noticed I left the starter heat shield off, would this help to keep the trans temps down? Where does it mount anyway, couldn't find the mounting holes anywhere? Thanks in advance.

The starter shield just snaps on there. The tranny lines are just hard tubing bend them until they arent touching just make sure you dont pinch them. My starter shield is off and been off for about 6 months and now problems yet so i would say dont worry about it. My truck has been in mud sand hot *** weather and all and the starter is still starting my truck.

...I just bent the line that was touching the header with a flat-head screw driver. Haven't checked if it's still touching the header, but no complaints so far...what would happen if it touches the header, will the overheating cause tranny problems???

I have heard that if it gets much hotter than 200* it can cause some damage, just want to be on the safe side with this new tranny. Thanks for all of the input guys, I think I will just bend them out of the way a little.
