tranny and stall report
i got my 50+lock ups in and close to 100miles in and got to beat it , damn this thing has some top end.
anyways, about the tranny and stall. tranny shifts hard. i wouldn't say too hard but it shift prety hard. it is great at WOT, fast and firm. it is good at low throttle when the stall is real loose but at part throttle(like 30% throttle and a few psi) it is a little harsh. i will get used to it, it lets a nice chirp out. not too much else i can say about the tranny i dont think. chuck at flp was very thourogh, there were several little things i needed to get the tranny in and chuck included everything. a metal vacume line, check valve, vacume t, converter bolts, gasket for tcase. he had it all in there.
the converter feels exactly like the yank EXCEPT when i lock it up it hits with a bang. no soft engaugement there.i haven't pushed it real hard yet but i am able to brake stall it to over 2000rpm. i did one gtech run and with the exhaust open and 10psi i pulled a corected 12.37. with a 2.0 60'(over 60lb/min). i think i can get that 60' time down a tenth or more and bump the boost to 15psi or so. i am shifting earily and have about 130lbs i can pull, along with locking up the converter. it is about 80deg today too. i would like to see some mid 11's on boost only.
this converter just like the yank is set up for a 408 and some nitrous out of the hole so it is prety tight. i probably wont be cuting any crazy 60' times without one of those 2 things. even though i am tempted to push the boost only set up i will likly turn on the nitrous hole shot again. like a 2500-4500rpm 50shot to get me moving.

not right now. i am going to be sure it is nice and broken in before i try that. my rpm's do not get that high in 3rd. i am wondering if it would help to lock it thru part of 2nd. i need to do some research on that.

i tried it before but i couldn't get consistant lock up. i thought it was a programing issue but now i am thinking the clutch was just sliping. i will try it in a few days.
i need to do some research on when is the most benificial time to lock it up. i spend alot of time in 2nd but not too much in 3rd. not sure how it would handle the 2-3shift if it was locked. i am not positive but i think the sooner i lock it the better for ET but the harder it is on the converter.

i know what you mean about the clutch engagement. i did a purple monster in a silverado ss and when the tcc engaged it was solid, like another shift. how are your trans temps? what fluid are you using?
