Man .. I had a nice post written up, hit the post it button and the site was down for upgrades!

Anyways ... From what I got about this on the other thread, the code put the tranny in a 'limp' mode because it thought the slippage was getting out of hand. Deleting the code just prevented the tranny going into limp mode. I would hope us performance minded folks would know when the tranny was slipping that bad.

Toggle the test to off and delete the code. If you toggle the test to off it will never run and then the computer will not find the problem. All that is wrong is too much slippage.

Clearing the code also seemed to work for me, but so did shutting the truck off and restarting it after it sat for a few minutes. I guess it depends on how the truck operates. If it trips the code, then this prevents the gear shifting, I could see that deleting the code would stop the problem. But if it actually has a problem, then trips the code, this would cure it.

It's happened much more frequent in the cold weather lately. I would try to shut the code off tonight, but I don't have my Edit cable with me.
Yea but isn't the "problem" that we're having is just too much slippage? That's what the stall does, so it really isn't a problem is it?
What do you mean changing the slippage range? If you can change this in Edit, then have you messed with it to try to prevent this from happening?

hopefully you guys wil have a solution before i put it in my truck... i dont want to throw this in if i end up getting an SES light and the tranny going into limp mode all the time.... i dont have EFI live so i dont have the luxury of turning off the code each time... ugh.. this is definetly a distraction.

my question is... why hasnt anyone else commented on this before?.. there has to be a cure if so many people have a TC and are having no problems..

When I had my TT3000, I never threw the code. I only started throwing it after I put in my ss3800. I have only heard of this happening with stalls more than 3000. I wouldn't worry about it with a 3000.

Its just something GM programmers put in for the STOCK converter. If the stock one slipped that much, then something would definately be wrong, so it goes into limp mode. With a big stall, turning off the code is fine, because theres nothing really wrong.

Yea .. I was about to say the only problem I have with my TT3000 on a stock tune is TQM kicking in after the shift and holding timing. It will resume timing after the shift has completed, sometimes about a second later. It just feels a little funny, but you will get used to it.

Don't even get me started on that
I know EXACTLY what you mean about the timing resuming after the shift, even a second or 2 after the shift TM

ok... so... is there a way to get that tuned out... i guess by almost removing all of TQM... so once TQM is messd with, having a tranny cooler, shift kit and billet servos will help it last right?... i'm still trying to figure all this out.

Yea, I have the B&M cooler, Transgo shift kit and both billet servos...I just need to get rid of TM now...or maybe some of it...I bet my tranny will if I take out all of TM...

I think that the tranny will be OK without TQM since you have the shift kit. The Transgo kit corrects a lot of things in the valve body, most of those things being the reason for TQM in the first place.
