Trans-Go Shift Kit = good/bad?
Could the Trans-Go shift kit hurt my tranny or help it? Isn't it better to have 2 out of the 3 washers installed, because the shifts would be very hard?
I want nice firm shifts but, not real hard shifts

If you plan on getting an aftermarket converter, go with 2 or 3 washers with the transgo. But if you are planning on keeping your stock converter, I would go with one washer. This is not what I think...but from experience. With the stock converter, I had 3 washers in and it shifted way too hard...actually chirped the 1-2 shift at 1/4 throttle.

Also...if you use the 'Vette or non-'Vette intermediate servo, I would consider 1 or 2 washers. If you toss in the billets like I did 1 or No washers is best.
I am still considering pulling my 1 washer for a slightly softer 1-2 shift.
With the one washer I can bark 285/75R16 tires at ~4500rpms!

I've got the full Transgo kit in mine with 2 washers and a "bumped up" pressure control solenoid (not via HPP3) and it bangs hard. It takes hardly more than 1/4 throttle to get a really nice chirp. I plan on putting the PC solenoid back to its stock setting soon just to get rid of some harshness.

When I get LS1 Edit tuning, they'll probably firm up the shifts. Would that work o.k. with 1 washer and a corvette servo? What do ya'll think would be the best set-up? Should I get the vette servo, shift kit w/ 1 washer, or both?
I just want real firm shifts, nothing real hard. None of this will hurt my tranny in the long run, will it?

Do NOT get them to raise the line pressure any more via EDIT, that is just bad. The TransGo comes with a boost valve of .500" from the .471 stocker.
So your converter is ~11" so it will feel close to stock...meaning little looseness. One washer and that 'Vette servo should work well. The TransGo gives you heavier springs that go inside the servo itself. If you need two, the 1-2 accumulator has 3 bolts I think thata holds it to the valve body...meaning easy to change by just dropping pan and accumulator.
If you have the cash, go for the billet servos, they make a very noticable difference in shift speed and quality. The trans place that tossed mine in with the TransGo were very suprised on how it shifted with those. They install tons of TransGo kits but never those billets.
Mine are nice quick and crisp at part throttle yet frim at WOT points.

Re: Trans-Go Shift Kit = good/bad?
So you have the billet servo and a trans-go shift kit with 1 washer, right? Where can I order a billet servo? Thanks for the info!
