Default Transmission and rearend rebuild

Made a costly trip to the track took out transmission and rearend at the same time.Any suggestions on how to make both the transmission and rearend live with 500lbs/ft of torque.I'm starting the rebuilds monday.

What all did you break? I'd suppose the G80 in the rear and prolly the input shaft and drum or sun gear shell in the trans...Got any video?

Anyway... the rear end is pretty easy to beef up:
1. Eaton Positraction
2. T/A Performance Stud Girdle
3. Forged Axles (Strange, Moser, etc.)

Find my post about the 4L60E build up in the search area of this board.

Good luck?

How the hell did you do that? Massive wheel hop or something?

Here is that write up:

That should help a bunch. Good luck!

No wheelhop to much bite from the Drag T/As,3000rpm launch and tons of supercharged horsepower.

No warning at all a good burnout, one short hop, stage, launch bang.I'n going with every hardened internal part I can find and a Eaton posi with a TA stud kit I'm debating over a 4.10 or 3.73.

From what I remember Toms Differential came highly recommended in the past.
http;//www.tomsdifferentials.com/tomc.htm

I'm looking into upgraded my factory g80 to 4:10 and the Eaton. Especially now!
Whitt with the 26 drag radials and your stock rearend gears what is the new ratio? Would staying with 3.73 with your tires be better. I'm running 28(track) 29(street) and I think 4:10 would help.
