Some 04/5.3 still came with 3 different size head bolts. It took me a few tries, trying to find the right ones.

In the event that someone is doing an LS1 swap, this also occurs with the 04 LS1 engines. My 04 GTO (build date 9/03) has the "long & short" (2 sizes) head bolt set, and my brother's 04 GTO (build date 10/03) has the "long only" head bolts.

Would be great to add on the Max Bore/Stroke for each block. this gets asked occasionally.

6.2L Alum blocks can be overbored 0.020", max bore 4.080"
6.0L Alum blocks can be overbored 0.030", max bore 4.030"
5.3L blocks can be overbored 0.120", max bore 3.900"

RARE universal 4.8L / 5.3L / 6.0L iron block castings can be bored as far out as 4.0".
Look for "4.3L-5.3L-6.0L" (all three displacements) cast into an iron block's front passenger side.

This is a test ...

Two posts I made - one about LS / Vortec heads, one about LS / Vortec intake manifolds - were recently deleted.
