Take a look at the article on LS1/LS6/Truck/LSX intakes in the July issue of Chevy High Performance. The truck intake is a little better than the LS1 and LSX through about 5,800 as I recall. Above this range the LS6 gains about 3 pounds of torque and HP and the LSX gains about 6 in each category. Believe it or not, the Torque and HP figure on the Truck piece are really great through the heart of the performance range.

I still think the truck intake sucks.
Here are a couple of random posts made by Blacksheep from different threads:

Same motor setup, except it now has the LS6 intake - (posted early 04)
So without all the other info, it looks like this truck gained 25 rwhp, 5 tenths, and 4 mph going to a LS6 intake.

yeah but the cam has alot to do with it too if you think about it the LSx intakes all more power than the trucks up high and if you have a cam that cooperates well with that setup then you're gravy. Now if he was running a cam that gives power from idle to 5500rpm then he'd have a better time with the trucks intake

I'm sure he was running it to 6500 and probably more. That cam in his 6L would probably compare to a 218/222 cam in a 5.3 motor.
That would be the stock cam.
Almost any cam is going to increase the rpm operating range of the motor. My 5.3 running the little 01 LS6 cam (204/216) pulled hard past 6200. Most guys with 212/218 cam will want to shift in the low 6K range. For a bigger cam, higher rpms.

Yep i see exactly what you're saying trust me i dont doubt for one min you know what you're talking about But im sayin you can call camotions have them custom grind a cam like mine for example which is (intake/ehaust) 211/206 .544/.505 115lsa 111intake centerline and it still makes power from idle but instead of idle-5500 its idle-5900. And in that case the truck intake should be more than fine!!! Right???or No???

Take a look at your cam specs. Thats a reverse split that has a more aggressive longer duration intake lobe. That configuration is designed to overcome a poor flowing intake compared to exhaust. So in a way you've proven that the truck intake is a poor design by buying a cam that crutches the intake side.
