That would be the stock cam.

Almost any cam is going to increase the rpm operating range of the motor. My 5.3 running the little 01 LS6 cam (204/216) pulled hard past 6200. Most guys with 212/218 cam will want to shift in the low 6K range. For a bigger cam, higher rpms.
heh, I picked up 3-4 tenths with the 212/218 in the 4.8 just by using EDIT to bump the shift points up to 6500. I think I was running 15.2x's with the cam and HPPIII shift points, and I ran a 14.7x's with the EDIT shift points. Guess that's more like 5 tenths or so.
