Default Truck runs like crap when i get to 1/4 tank....

My truck has been doing this alot lately... Whenever i get to about 1/4 tank of gas it starts idling like complete crap... Any ideas, the truck has 45k on it...

I was thinking maybe a bad fuel pump or is 1/4 tank when the EVAP cycles (kinda a stretch on that one, but an idea)???

Also i know there is plenty of gas, cause when my truck gets to "E" and the light is on, i can only put in 21.5-22 gallons of gas and I believe it is a 24-26 gallon tank (i may be wrong on that one...)

Mine does the same thing....i know for a fact its not the fuel filter bc this was on a brand new one (first tank to run through the filter). Also if you do a WOT it spits and spudders...

Tyler (dirt track racer81) said his truck used to run lean when his tank was under a 1/4 tank and run a little not so good

Is there enough baffling in the tank to keep the pick-up submerged when the fuel level is that low? That's the only reason I can think of for it to lean out when the gauge reads that level.

Why would baffling in the tank matter at idle.............................

i would say fuel level sender but you said you can only put 21-22 gallons...

could possibly be the entire fuel pump..

FUEL PUMP!! My 8.1 was doinf this exact thing, would get to the point were it would idle real low and sometimes die. Even died when I would come to stop sometimes, but would run great, just bad idle. And it was always with a 1/4 tank or lower. AND my fuel pump took a dump on me yesterday!!

hmmmm, this sucks, for example this afternoon, i start it up and it just dies, i did it 6 times in a row, it flares up then dies, no stumble just dies, the 7th i started it and put in gear real quick and drove off... This is ridiculus, if i can't let it get below 1/4.... Remember mine is also Returnless
