truck throttle body vs. f-body throttle body
are these two the same? i got onto the sponsors web page and looked at both throttle bodies. well they look exactly the same and of course cost the same. well i was wondering this because i think MTI charges $100 for a ported throttle body, but you send the core. this beats paying $400. any comments?

Re: truck throttle body vs. f-body throttle body
I went to MTI and talked to Chris Stahl. He says that they don't actually increase the trottle bore. They remove the rindge in front of the trottle plate to increase cfm by 100cfm. factory flows 1000cfm and after MTI mod 1100cfm. He says after market Trottle body's are a waste because the manifold opening is the same as the OEM trottle body. So although you open the trottle body bore the air path will still be cut down to OEM and there is not enough "meat" in that area of the manifold to go and remove.

What he said. I don't know of anyone that has actually proven an after market TB is worth it. Yes, what Chris said is right and I am probably going to do mine myself.
