next time you have that problem, put a fuel pressure guage on the fuelrail tap and see what it reads when you try to start it. does the check engine light ever come on? if it runs ok but just won't idle, it sounds like something else with an intermittent connection. how long will it idle or does it just die immediately? can you hear the fuel pump prime the system when you turn on the key? if you can repeatedly start it back to back, then it is working fine. if the pump were hanging up internally, there would be 0 fuel pressure and it wouldn't even fire.

I have the same problem, and I have a fuel pressure gauge. It reads fine. I thought it was my Viper alarm. I have no idea what is really wrong. I guess I need to check the fuel pump.

The security light only comes on when I do a remote start.......my friend is comin' out to make sure the DEI 555L or whatever has a good ground and go over everything to rule that out......It has started fine for 2 days and tried again and it didnt start. Let it sit for 15 minutes or so and it started right up lol. When it doesnt start it turns over and cranks and the belts spin for about 2 seconds and then dies......like its the fuel....I will listen for the buzzing humming sound by the tank....Thanx guys.....keep the ideas comin'! Will it make the sound by the tank if its bad?

Nah if you hear the sounds it's good. That's the fuel pump running. No sound = no fuel pressure.

Bumping the tank with mallet would get my fuel pump to click on, but if it comes to that its time for a new pump.

i say get all of that electric start crap out of there. its cool and all but the VAT system does not like it. it makes your securty light stay on while you drive down the road and that can lead to your truck truning off, and having to sit for 15 minutes to get it to start again. look up the vat system in your owners manuel, it explains it all.

My Security light was fine til lately, maybe a bad ground or somethin on the DEI unit. Friends had his remote start for shhhh like 2-3 years no problems and 50k miles....
