Default Truck vs. car waterpumps

Has anyone tried tearing apart a car water pump body and restuffing with truck pump shaft and pulleys to make a forward facing truck pump? It would open up the options for intake manifolds on 5.3/6.0's. I've been eyeballing that new Weiand street warrior with those long long runners that would make beautiful torque on a truck motor but the TB location is the same as all the car intake manifolds. I think the alternator bracket could be carved up to clear it without too much grief. How bout water pump choices. Anybody?

You can also just use a car waterpump and press the truck pulley onto it.

I tried that, but they could not take off the pulley on the car WP. Do you know someone who can do it?
