Default Truck weights and reductions

Got the truck on the scales this weekend at the shootout. I was surprised that with me and a half tank of gas It only weighed 4135. Im only 150lbs, but this seems light to me considering what I have seen other trucks of the same style weigh. The only reduction that was done is: removed tailgate, spare tire, jack and jack tools, fiberglass roll pan, and speaker boxes. What are some of your trucks weights and what weight reduction have you guys done?

Mine weighed 4510 with 1/4 tank of gas a hitch and me, I weigh 170. I weighed it at the Thunder Race. I didn't think it was that heavy.

I find it odd that those 2 trucks both being regular cap short bed trucks weight 400lbs different??? Any ideas??...I'm sure it isn't the hitch!

I think the hitch is a good 30-40lbs. im not sure.
I think Parish8 did weigh the tailgate, bumpers and some other things.

And I used the scale at the dump, not sure if its %100 accurate.

I see that quite a bit. 2 RCSB 2wd trucks weighing vastly different.. Some of it might be the type of scale they are using and how much crap they have added to thier trucks. bed covers, liners, towing stuff, wheels, stereo junk etc.

Add a big stereo system, bed cover, and heavy wheels and you can get 400lbs easy

Tailgate 45lbs
Rear seat 65lbs
Tow package 30-35lbs
Rear bumper 35-40lbs?
Spare 50-60lbs (depends on your rim/tire combo)

Heck just my 2 subs in their boxes are 90lbs. lol

If you look at Quicks first post he removed the tailgate, spare tire, jack, tools, etc. Now you and the next guy weight basically exactly the same weight.
I would say it was the removal of those things that made the difference.
