Default Truck's taking a trip ... getting ready for the 80e

It's going to a 4x4 shop tomorrow to get the differential replaced with an Eaton Posi and 4.10 gears. I tried and tried but I finally gave up on it. I got it loaded up on my trailer this weekend. Tomorrow it's getting towed by my dad's work truck (I'm not telling anyone it's a 2003 F-250 though). I sould have it back this weekend ready to put the tranny in it.

My girlfriend will be gone this weekend, so it will be a perfect chance to do the work. All I need though is tuning. There seems to be a problem with my segment 1 id being a one of a kind. I've still been waiting a little over a month for it though.

Flyer when you get the sawp done you need to make a good step by step guide and parts needed list. im sure you wont be the last 2wd rcsb to do a 4l80 swap. I'm Next!=)

Just curious--how much are you paying for your gears/Eaton/install?

SInce I have everything already .... 200. Not bad I didn't think. It's going to the more respected 4x4 shop in the area too which also happened to be the cheaper place to go.

I had to swap wheels with a buddy of mine so it would fit on my trailor. He's getting to enjoy my GY Eagle GT2's At least they ARE a step up from the stockers. Maybe they will be less prone to dry rot if they are getting some use too.

Here's a pic ...

Here's the rest I took:

Flyer, have tou made up a list of everything that you have yet? Just wanted to compare notes and make sure that I have everything I need before I dive in to the swap.

Tranny ...... 1300
converter ... 750
flexplate ..... included with trans
shift kit ....... 100
new flex plate bolts ... 30
new inspection cover bolts ... 10

STILL WAITING ON TUNING!!

diff and gears .... ~500 from board member
new lube and additive ... 40
bearings ..... 12 x 2

The spacer came welded or pressed onto the flexplate, that's why I got the flexplate wiuth the tranny.

The dipstick tube and dipstick are iwrapped up wiuth the tranny.
I will cut a section out of the lines and connect them back up with some rubber hose ... so that will eleminate the need for new lines.

That's all I can think of right now ... do you have anything to add to it? As far as I know ... tuning is all that I don't have.
