Trucks with transmission shudder?

Trucks with transmission shudder?
I think my 03 is suffering from the infamous trannsmission shudder but Im not 100% sure. It doesnt seem to make any performance difference since my quarter mile times are totally cool. Does anyone with an 03 notice a slight vibration between the 1-2 shift, usually during hard acceleration?
Should I push the dealership to address this problem? will this issue eventually create tranny problems? Is there a real fix for it? I want to be sure that the dealership fixes the problem, if necessary?

Go to your local NAPA or Car Quest store. Get a bottle of
LubeGard Trans. Protectant (Only buy the RED bottle, this is for GM products) Poor bottle in, drive and shut down vehicle for the night. In most cases this ends shudder problems, if after 48 hours it still shudders, take it to the dealer. This is no snake oil product and is used by many tranny shops around the country. It is so good that SAAB has a service bulletin on it to solve mystery tranny problems with SAAB vehicles.

Re: Trucks with transmission shudder?
So have you tried this on your or anothers truck? What years were the trucks?
What is causing this stuff and how could this stuff help? Im not doubting your suggestion just curious.
thanks I will most definitely try it!
To poor it in do I just do it from under the hood? Or do I have to get under the truck? If I get under the truck won't I lose some fluid when pouring it in?
Never changed the tranny fluid since Im only at 6000 miles.

Re: Trucks with transmission shudder?
I have used this product to protect my current tranny (2002), and have used it in the shop to cure shudder on many a tranny.
This product penetrates the clutch packs as a shudder is a friction issue. Just pour it in the dip stick hole with a funnel. Do not worry about overfill as the amount in the bottle will not cause an overfull condition. An added benefit is your tranny will run cooler and and the fluid will last longer.

Do forget to pour it in, drive it and then let it sit overnight.
It will penetrate the clutch packs during shut down. You should start to feel it working the next day. It may take a couple of days of driving and then shut down overnight to get the full effect....
Don't forget: LubeGard RED bottle only. The other color bottles are not for GM products!

Re: Trucks with transmission shudder?
can someone please describe the shudder.
when down shift from OD to 2nd like about 3 times, its has kinda like slipped...like it took 2-3 times to grip in a fraction of a second.

Re: Trucks with transmission shudder?
Taking it into the dealership without a TSB no defective part beyond being able duplicate the condition will not get you a fix. Cause your gonna take some techs time to try and diagnose it and if it doesn't make a driveability problem he has no choice but to say its not defective, cause the longer its in his bay the more money he is loosing. I have a shudder, belive in the diff when making right turns after stopping and normally after I have just pulled off a highway. Probley Posi shudder or trying to lock the right rear.....

Re: Trucks with transmission shudder?
According to Alldata's free access area about the 03 trucks there IS something (I think a TSB) about a driveline shutter. I am going to try using that LubeGard RED bottle stuff and see if it solves my vibration issue. If not then I will take it to the dealership.
