Default tsp224r or tsp224 xe?

tsp224r vs. tsp224xe...

the only difference is lift .581 compared to .566, how much difference in performance should i expect to see? the only reason, i plan on running LS6 springs that i already have and the 224r is a bit too much lift.

the 224r will make more power under the curve. I would go with that and get the PAC 1218 springs from SDPC for $125.

Be careful running those LS6 springs alot of cams have a much to aggressive ramp rate and those springs are prone to failure with those nice high lift aggressive lobe's! an extra 100$ now may prevent pulling your head(s) and replacing valves. just a thought

Also the ls6 springs are only good to 550 lift I believe... The 224r has a different lobe then the xe one is es a exr lobe, one is the xe lobe

yep true. . .some of the aftermarket cams have way more aggressive ramp rates that the "LS6" cam and the "LS6" springs cant control the valve harmonics that great and may cause broken springs or valve float.....comp 918's FTW!

also FWIW. if you can get yourself a good price on the Ti retainers, they are 5 grams lighter than the stock steel retainers and worth it. good luck with your cam set up

why are you so set on the ls6 springs? the ls6 springs were meant for a stock cam, not something with lobes like the tr220.
