Default Tuned the truck today

Found out some interesting things. BTW,the numbers were 274 rwhp and 265 rwtq on a stock cammed 4.8. That's up 13 (261hp/271tq)from 2 years ago with an HppIII. Torque numbers were down 6, but probably due to the 3400 stall that was not there last time. As for the tunning, we were pretty much maxed out already. The Predator programming I had on it was doing it's job. We baselined 29.xx* timing with 0 knock at 266rwhp. So we changed a few other settings and tranny points and ran it again. The graphs I have show the baseline and closed cutout power. It was 270rwhp with the cutouts closed BTW. I didn't think about getting a graph with them open. Now for the interesting part, I have always complained about the Predator not correcting the tire size. Well, now I have proof, it didn't. I know I input it and have checked it a few times and it even shows the tire size I put in (285/50/18). Well, when we hooked up edit, it read the tire size was 32" tall when it should have been 28.xx". After that was fixed, Jayson recalibrated the speedo and we were done. Also, we verified the Predator turned off torque managment. All in all, I guess I acheive my goal of getting advertised flywheel rated horspower to the wheels w/o a power adder or internal work.

Doh!!!! I went to MTI. I have my own edit and laptop. I got Jayson to do the tune so he could explain and show me a few things. Jayson has been very patient with me through all the troubles I have had with my copy of Edit for the last 11 months.

Oh, and as for the cutouts only adding just a few horses....like I said, the trruck was pretty maxed out on the tune to begin with.
