Default Turbo 88-98 Silverado??

Has anyone ever heard of a turbo 88-98 Silverado? Does anyone make a kit for that? I don't have one of those trucks, but I'm interested in knowing if anyone offers a system for it.

I think Banks makes a twin turbo setup for the 5.7 350.

I have never found a turbo kit for these trucks, but a custom setup could be built. There are a few supercharger kits available for these trucks however. (Procharger, Vortech, Paxton, Magnacharger, Whipple)

I asked STS about the OBS trucks. They don't have any plans to produce a system specifically for them.

the banks kit is stupid expensive, but if you wanted to go twin turbo, their cast manifolds are really nice and available by themselves for a reasonable price. i think it was like $800.

I've seen a turbo kit for these trucks it was none intercooled but made good power. The only problem is I can't remember the name of the company.

i think it was Aerodyne that did one a few years ago, but discontinued it. it had the turbo down beside the transmission. everything fit well, but then again, it wasn't intercooled.

someone here put the NBS STS turbo kit on his OBS truck with good results. i recall it just required some trimming and refitting on the intake tubing, but nothing serious. might've been over at gm-trucks.com...

Turbo Technology in Tacoma, Washington did a kit... but it didn't take off and sell a lot so they dropped it by the wayside. Some hint of it remains on their website. Also, the TBI system on those truck basically sucks for mods. I know the 89-91's can't be tuned well at all if you have a cam that makes less than 15 inches of vacuum at idle in gear. Basically all the "cool camshafts" do less than that. However, they do convert to carb very easily and a blow through supercharger or turbo rig would rock on one! lots of room for an intercooler under that hood!

Is there a kit out there for converting the TBI to carb? Would any carbed 350 intake manifold work?
