Default Turbo cam?

What would be a good cam for a 5.7 ls1 with a turbo?

If you were happy with FMS, I'd let them design it.

Extremely pleased with Allans work. He's gonna do some work for me in the near future. Just trying to get some other input.

I've also got a turbo cam by Cam Motion (same company FMS uses) if you are interested.

CamMotion does cut the cams for FMS. Are their cams similar to Futral's? I know Allen has some custom lobes above a certain size that get incredible results.

That's a good question. From what I've found, if a shop/company orders custom designed lobes, there is an associated design cost plus more if the shop wants proprietary rights to the design (my guy at Comp said I could design my own cam for about ~$1,000, plus another $500 to grind the first one ).

What this means is that Cam Motion cannot sell any of the proprietary FMS designs, even though they may design and grind all of FMS's cams for them. If you ordered a custom grind from Cam Motion that had similar specs to an FMS cam, you would likely not get the same cam.

Spoke to Allan earlier. He's gonna set me up with a custom grind cam. FMS customer service is the best.

Excellent turn-around on them also. You can have them in as little as a week to ten days.
