UPD intake Q's
I noticed that UPD's website does not make any power claims, anyone have any ET or dyno results before and after this setup? I want to put an aftermarket intake on, but want it quiet.

From what I have read on here and other places, you will not be very happy with a UPD. Some are, but it seems the majority aren't. Evidently, it cracks on the top piece and other places. A lot of people like the Volant, including me. I have had mine for over 4 years now and it looks brand new and have never had problem with it.
There are other brands, but I would stay away from UPD just based on the negative feedback.

Yeah... UPD has some improvement to do as far as their workmanship goes. Both of my UPD's are cracked. There was a thread with dyno number showing the UPD making 6 more rwhp over the K&N kit.

Yeah, I have a clear one. It cracked on me. I glued it. It cracked again. I ripped it off. I was never crazy about the whole "hard mount" thing - no accordian to account for the engine torqing in the mounts.
I still have the thing hanging around - I've been meaning to rig up the lid to some custom Home Depot plumbing, using that rubber accordian thing... I just haven't got around to it.
Performance wise, it did feel like it pulled harder in the uppper RPM's. Throttle responce was a little soft around town an on initial tip-in on the highway. That could have been from the cracking intake tube though.

It hasn't cracked yet but it didn't fit very well. Alot of pushing and shuving.
I didn't like how they use Fernco plumbing rubber adapters, seems kinda of ghetto. I would like to see Silicon tubing for the $229 it cost.
I think it is awesome the fact that it's clear, but thats about it.
Performance wise- I like the AFE panel filter better than the KN conical when it comes to sound and cleaning. I was picking up alot of bugs with the KN Fipk because I removed the rubber flap along side the radiator and trimmed the plastic headlight bracket in hopes to get some cold air in.
I'll prolly go with something custom or the volant kit if it ever cracks on me.
