Default UPD runs rich

I noticed after my UPD intake install that my chrome Corsa exhaust tips seemed really black.I wiped them clean and after a tank of gas they were black again.I have to admit that the UPD has nice throttle response and pulls like a raped ape in second gear to 5800 rpm.I switched back to my factory intake, cleaned tips, and after 10 tanks they still do not look as black.I was wondering if this is normal,or will it eventiually cause carbon buildup on valves and pistons?Should I reinstall or wait a couple months for my custom Nelson tune when I get my new Yank converter in.

Hmmm, I have the same question, but never thought to post it. I'm running the K&N FIPK II and the Corsa. I did my K&N about a year before the Corsa, so I'm unsure about a connection here. The insides of my tips are defiantley black though.

I know when I was on the dyno, I was just a hair rich. Maybe it if a A/F condition or the normal byproducts of combustion? Anybody else?
