What let go/was letting go on your other motor and causing the oil pressure loss? Hoping I can learn from your misfortune and avoid more frustration.
These days, you have to ask to see their high school yearbook or childhood pictures.

Man not yet. There is an issue with the #5 cam bearing and it's out of round or out of plane and the cam doesn't spin freely on it. Not a bent cam either because I have flipped the cam and inserted it from the rear (giggity) and its always #5 doing the problem

AMS said they would fix it if I sent the motor back. Thats an $800 round trip, so I bought bearings and a tool instead

But finishing the boat, and working on the 6L80 swap for my big girl has taken up my time. Plus I've had to strip my parts Ranger to keep @dantheman1540 's Ranger running lol

I will get the C5 repowered soon! Promise. Just working on vehicles I consider slightly higher priority! I have wanted this car since I was 16 (18yrs ago).... she aint going anywhere. Promise <3

If ya'll know where to buy any of that white powder that smells like energy, I need some!

Well bois.... I may be slow, and I'm sure I made more than a few mistakes... but the 11.3:1 408 with a phaaaaat cam, ported heads, balanced to 8k bottom end has officially barked her *** to life! I'll upload the videos at some point, and more pics later

I wouldn't say this build fought me, at all. Just takes time to do things when you're genetically identical to a snail

Sounds great at idle. 40psi hot idle on 10/30. Over 60 at 4k (hasn't been higher), temps look great, sounds sound great, engine appears to be made out of engine

I made new rear brake lines and a new passenger front brake line to aid future powertrain removals

Still don't know what happened with the old motor, but I did make some massive changes with the oil control on this motor:

Stock barbell instead of dual o-ring
Stock bypass instead of solid filter bypass
Crank scraper instead of windage tray
Link bar lifters
Restricted pushrods
Stock(ported) LS6 pump (instead of high volume)
Crank case under vacuum instead of open breather

Break-in will be 10/30 then moving to the VR1 20/50. Still no oil cooler installed, but I do have the lines connected and looped

Street tune and break in miles start Friday. Won't see dyno until 500 street miles and at least 1 oil change. Asked tuner for 4k limiter since I have no self control 🤣. Plan to shift at 7200 with limiter at 7500, at some point. For now, I am just happy to be able to start her and listen to the sewing machine do its thing 🩶

just a Radium catch can on an LS6 valley cover to the LS3 manifold, valve covers vented to the intake- just like OE

So essentially, its an OE PCV system with a Radium catch can added

Where as before the crank case was open to atmosphere via an open element catch can
