Using stock trans cooler for engine oil cooler?

Oil cooler lines are definitely larger. I just changed the radiator in a 1-ton van and the lines are at least 1/2".

Your best option is to do it like Atomic did. Custom oil cooler block for use with -10 AN fittings/hose and a nice aftermarket bar and plate cooler.
