V8 Tundra. There is a truck the Mayor can beat.
Went to MMS last night. It rained yesterday so turnout was light. I tech.'d in to run a '85 IROC that a friend bought running poorly. He drained and dropped the tank, changed fuel pump, and drove to the track. I treed him by .26 but he ran me down by .0407,fun race but his 15.188@90.3 was too much for my 15.584@87.47 . It was a lot of fun and probably been my only pass but I saw a V8 Tundra heading to tech.,remembering the commercial where the toyota pulling a boat passes a bowtie,I went to my dark green 5.3 ext cab and waited. The Tundra headed to the staging lanes,I fell in behind. We happened to be side by side so I ask if he had run it before? No he said, but he had raced on the street, had flo,s ,K&N,and wheels. Not sure how could run I hedged my bet with a.508 r/t(my best so far) and never saw anything but his headlights in my mirror.
Times where:
V8 Tundra .860 r/t 16.82 @ 81.54
TnTrk5.3 .508 r/t 15.78 @ 87.26
even the 16.5 Mayor can beat ,em. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

LMFAO! Maybe they are faster when they have a boat hooked up to them. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" />
BTW, the "mayor" I ran against ran a 17.5. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Embarrassed]" src="gr_emb.gif" />

sad part is in their brochures for the truck they say they out accelerate ford, dodge, and GM.
by the way, my 4.8L has beaten those trucks...and its bone stock.

Actually it may....0-10mph! But toyota doesn't say that, they just "we out accelerate them" without qaulifying their statement.
This is not uncommong in advertising, one must listen closely to what they say because the general public hears just the "we out accelerate, ford, Chevy and Dodge" but don't listen close enough or read the fine print for the disclosure.
