Default Vacuum.

Since I know a lot of you guys suck pretty hard I knew this was the best place to ask.

Other than the Intake gaskets, Where else can I check for a vacuum leak that would cause a rough idle?

My tune is in my sig. However the vehicle in question is 100% stock and has a mad leak somewhere to the point where it will barely stay running.
I'm still pretty sure it's the intake gaskets but I still have to buy some carb cleaner. It's for a coworker so I want to get all the options laid out before I do anything.

She said it does this every winter but is worse this year. Summer never has problems. That has me thinking gasket.

Dealership said the gaskets are good however I don't think they actually Sprayed them. They said it has a vacuum leak and just half assed it IMO.

Edit: BTW. unplugged MAF and ran fine the 1st time then started running ruff again. Maf on or off it's ruff

Ask around and see if you can get ahold of a smoke machine, they work wonders.

Unplug the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator, and start the truck, if fuel leaks out bad deal, could cause a rough idle since fuel is getting sucked up. Also spraying the intake down can work. But smoke works better, i have also seen 1 or 2 randomly cracked intakes as well, but those where more the early 99-00 trucks.

Quick Reply: Vacuum.
