Also spray the brake booster hose (if its not hydro-boost) and check the hoses for the crank case.

when i had a vac leak i put a hose fitting in a cup and installed that into the intake. then i pressurized to about 15psi. found out my injector "O" rings were leaking.

either way by pressurizing the intake that way i was able to listen for leaks with out the engine running in my ear. i would suggest rotating the engine by hand a little at a time because you will here the air going past the valves.

i had the same problem twice i unpluged the maf and that made it stop the first time so i replaced it and that fixed it than like 3 months later it did it again because my IAC started getting stuck so i cleaned the TB and replaced the IAC and its worked perfect ever since

Take a butane tourch and just use the butane while the truck is running click it, so just butane is coming out. Run it around all the areas of gaskets, hoses. If it revs/idles up near one that will be where the leak is.. Or do the FP reg thing that D said

i don't have any good solutions to your problem but i'll say that i had to replace my intake gaskets a while back and they are apparently a pretty common problem on the 5.3 engines. i think i had to do it around 70k or something along those lines... i have the receipt around here somewhere. cost me like a hundred bucks
