Default Valve spring question

I just got my valve spring and rods in. I ordered Comp 26918-16 springs. The ones that came in are labeled 987-16 and have a red stripe on the inner spring and no color on the outer. Is this what I was suppose to get?

Sounds like you got the wrong ones. Go to Comp's website and check it out.

The 987 is a dual spring according to the COMP Catalog.

If you ordered 918s and got dual springs with a red stripe that's a mistake. I'd call them first before you start pulling the old springs out. If the spring seats that came with the springs they sent you will fit without machining you can use them. That way if you put a bigger cam in later you'll already have the springs done ahead of time. It would be interesting to know what CC has to say about this.

I sent an e-mail and will call first thing Monday.

I'm glad I didn't do the swap this weekend like I had hoped. That would have sucked!

Well, I called my vendor today and it was a mistake on the springs. The funny thing is that they said I would have the right set on Wednesday.....It took 3 weeks for the first order to get here!
