60 is about 1500,80 is about 2300 .My gears are 3:42,s lsa 112. Here,s the cam

how are you running such a high rpm with 3.42s? thats higher then my 4.10s with a 29" tire...

he's got the 4L60E trans. that couldbe the diff.
my 2500HD crewcabS/B 4x4 w/ BFG 265's and 4:10's runs about 2600 w/ the 'verter locked.


anyone know the specs on the OEM 2001 6.0ltr cam?

i have a 4l60e trans... if hes got a 2500hd you mean 4l80e.

I was wrong about the rpms and speeds,must of confused it with one of other vehicles.Just took my truck for drive 1500rpm@60 and 2300@80. sorry obout the confusion.

I tow right about 63 mph, Witha 80 e tranny and 4.10's w/ 35" tire puts me right at 2000RPM, i would love to gain torque right there!

You need to get your compression UP. Your engine is only 9.4:1. Get your compression up around 10.6:1 (which alone will give you a ~5% increase in torque) and add something like a 206/212 XFI lobed cam.

Another thing i think that contributes to my low end torque is the 5.3 heads on my lq4.This bumps up my compression to about 10:1.

10.6 will require 93 octain, right?
